Analytics
Cookies
On our website we use technologies that make it easier to use and/or that provide a variety of functions (thereby making the website more user-friendly, effective and secure overall). These technologies include cookies, pixels and scripts (hereinafter referred to as “cookies”).
Cookies are small data records that are saved on your device and contain things like personal website settings and login information. These data records are generated and sent to you by the web server that you connected to through your web browser.
How cookies are processed
In principle it is possible to access our website without cookies. However, if you wish to make extensive use of the functionality of our website you should accept cookies, which in turn will enable certain functions or make them more convenient.
Most web browsers are set up by default to automatically accept cookies. However, you can object to the use of cookies at any time with immediate effect for the future by setting up your browser such that it does not accept cookies or only accepts certain cookies, or so that you are notified as soon as cookies are sent. The result may be that you cannot make full use of all the functions of our website. If you accept cookies in your browser settings, you are giving consent to the use of these cookies by using our website.
Please note that the settings in your browser always only apply to the browser in question. If you use several browsers or end devices, you must apply the settings again. You can also delete cookies from your computer’s memory at any time. Please consult the Help function on your browser for information on cookie settings and how to change them, and how to delete cookies.
There are also software products that manage cookies for you. For more on cookies and how to work with cookies please look at the many Internet sites with helpful information.
Which cookies do we use?
We mainly use the following categories of cookies:
Category | Description |
Essential cookies | These are essential for the website to function. Without them, services such as login would not work. |
Functional cookies | These allow a website to save information that has already been entered (such as user names and configurations) and provide the user with better and more personalized functions. |
Performance cookies | These are used to improve the user-friendliness of our website and hence the user experience. They collect information about how our website is used, the number of visits, average length of stay and the pages accessed. Performance cookies help us to identify the elements on our Internet offering that are used the most and help us develop the website based on your needs. |
We also use analysis cookies in connection with web analysis (see also the section on user tracking).
Cookies may be permanent or temporary. Permanent cookies save a file on your end device for a set period until it expires (unless you delete it before that). This means language settings can be saved, for example, so you do not have to re-enter these in our website. Session cookies temporarily store a session ID while you are active on the website. This means you do not, for instance, have to log in again when you change pages. Session cookies are deleted when you log off or cease to be valid once your session has expired.
Links to Third-Party Sites
The Site may make available links to other websites. When you click on such links, you may leave our Site. Your web browser may also disclose to the third party site the URL of the Guam Recovery page you clicked from, and this URL may include search terms and filters you used on Guam Recovery.
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INFORMATION COLLECTION, USE, DISCLOSURE OR OTHER PRIVACY PRACTICES OF ANY THIRD PARTY, INCLUDING OUR AFFILIATES, THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS, ANY EMPLOYERS (INCLUDING ANY EMPLOYER THAT PROVIDES A COMPANY PAGE), ANY THIRD-PARTY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM, ANY THIRD PARTY MAKING AVAILABLE THE DEVICES OR OPERATING SYSTEMS FOR WHICH THE SITE IS AVAILABLE, AND ANY THIRD PARTY OPERATING ANY WEBSITE TO WHICH THE SITE CONTAINS A LINK. YOU MAY HAVE RIGHTS DIRECTLY ENFORCEABLE AGAINST THESE THIRD PARTIES SO YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THEIR PRIVACY POLICIES TO LEARN MORE.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Newsletter registration:
This website offers you the option of signing up for a newsletter. We process the data you enter while signing up for that newsletter (e-mail address, last name, first name, title and configuration) for the purposes of sending the newsletter once you have provided consent for us to do so (Article 6 (1) 1 a GDPR). To activate the newsletter, we use the so-called double opt-in process, which means we send you an e-mail to the e-mail address you entered and request that you confirm your consent. You have the right to revoke your consent from Guam Recovery, with future effect, at any time and without stating a reason. This can be done using the “Unsubscribe” link included in every newsletter or by contacting us via the Guam Recovery website contact form. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, your personal data will be deleted as long as we do not process your data for some other legal reason or keep it in order to comply with data retention obligations. Newsletters are sent using a processor.
