The Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA) has officially begun to receive applications for the Guam Small Business Pandemic Assistance Grant Program 2021 (PAG2021). The application period opened at 8:00 AM yesterday, September 9, 2021 and will close at 5:00 PM on Thursday, December 9, 2021.
The PAG2021 program provides direct financial assistance to Guam small businesses that meet all eligibility criteria and can demonstrate at least twenty-five percent (25%) business interruption during the COVID-19 pandemic. This extends to small businesses that opened in both 2020 and 2021, as long as they meet all eligibility criteria.
“The PAG2021 grant is open to a broad spectrum of small businesses, and I strongly encourage business owners and managers to review the comprehensive program information on our website,” says GEDA CEO/Administrator Melanie Mendiola. “Although we understand that a bulk of submitted applications will be for businesses that have been open since before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have set up a review committee to consider eligibility for businesses that have opened during the pandemic. It is our goal to provide assistance to as many local small businesses as possible in order to help bolster Guam’s economic recovery.”
The full program guidelines, application form and application checklist are readily available for download on the GEDA website. In addition, hard copies of the same can be obtained at the GEDA office, located on the fifth floor of the ITC Building, Tamuning between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, excluding government of Guam holidays.
Applications may be submitted to GEDA via the email address indicated on the application form, or via hand delivery to our drop box at the GEDA offices. For the health and safety of the public, email submissions are strongly recommended.
