Guam Opens Borders for Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
(Tumon, Guam) – May 29, 2020)
On May 27th, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero announced the reopening of travel for the countries of Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan effective July 1, 2020. The mandatory quarantine measures and testing requirements have been lifted allowing our visitors to once again experience the beautiful island of Guam.
By giving us a moment, Guam was able to prepare key health protocols and ensure controls are in place for the safety of our island community and our visitors. “We have spent these last several weeks containing the spread of COVID-19, developing the necessary guidelines, and now we are ready to welcome visitors back to experience our Hafa Adai spirit,” said Governor Lou Leon Guerrero.
“I would like to thank the travel trade industry for giving us a moment. Now is the time for us to get up and move” said, Interim President & CEO of the Guam Visitors Bureau and former Governor Carl T.C. Guiterrez. “Japan, South Korea and Taiwan have been doing a great job at containing COVID-19 cases, and because of that, along with our efforts on Guam, we are confident that the island is ready to welcome our visitors.”
